Haven’t used the pax 3 but I owned the 1, used the 2 extensively, and owned a grasshopper. 15 second heat up time on the pax 3 is still about 8-10 seconds slower than the grasshopper. The hopper is also pure convection which theoretically means better flavor.

I have both. I used my grasshopper 99% of the time. Grasshopper is superior in flavor and effect and with start up time, stealth. I use my pax in group settings but now even, folks would rather wait for someone to be done with the grasshopper and hit that, rather than share a pax2.
